I have a set up:

  • 4-port KVM (USB+DVI) Iogear GCS1104
  • Lenovo T400 laptop, using a Lenovo Docking station, 50410U
  • Dell U2410 24' Monitor, running at 1920x1200 resolution.

I can can not get these to work together. WHen I connect the lapttop to the KVM switch, and the KVM switch to the monitor, the max resolution I get is 1280x1068. I can change it to 1680x1050 (max it will go), but then it does the scrolly thing where I can't see my whole desktop at a time, I have to scroll and I'll see that piece of the window I'm working on. I'm at a loss as to what it can be.

  • I've connected my Samsung T240 monitor, and the laptop works at 1920x1200 through the KVM switch, so I know that the Laptop and KVM Switch support that resolution.
  • I've connected the laptop directly to the Dell U2410 monitor, which works great, so I know that the laptop and the monitor support that resolution.
  • I've got other computers which run through the KVM switch, and switch cables and ports on the KVM and they all continue to work while my connection to the KVM switch does not. So I don't don't think I have any bad cables.
  • I remember seeing IOGear having the option to update firmware, but I no longer see that on their website.

I know it's a long shot, but anyone have any ideas? The laptop is running Windows XP if anyone needs to know. But I know Windows XP, Windows 7, Ubuntu and Fedora all work through my KVM switch just fine.
