Has anyone tried Norton AntiVirus 2010 yet? If so, how good is it for the system because I have heard that it can take up a lot of RAM and slow everything down.

I have closed this question as it seems that this is turning into a Best of Anti-Virus argument and it is subjective. – Diago Aug 30 '09 at 10:36
Rajat - I see you can actually download a beta of 2010, so why not download it and give it a go yourself for free? Only way to really find out. – kez Aug 30 '09 at 11:03

Forget Symantec, go for Avira Antivir. The best Antivirus out there: http://www.av-comparatives.org/comparativesreviews/main-tests

Nod32 passed you by? :P – Phoshi Aug 30 '09 at 10:26
There is no "best" antivirus out there. (apart from AVG :p) – kez Aug 30 '09 at 10:29
Ok, I admit "best" is relative. Ah well, that's because Avira do false positives sometimes. Although with a total of about 1.5 years active, I've had only 3 false positives so far. Nod32 is nothing bit a huge resource sieve in my opinion, but that's when I tested it about 1 year or more ago. – Don Salva Aug 30 '09 at 11:27
