Is there a difference in performance between laptop and desktop ?. I have 2 systems: laptop and desktop whose basic configurations are given below

Toshiba Satellite C650 Laptop

CPU : Intel Core i3 M350 @ 2.27 GHz

RAM : 3 GB

And

Desktop PC

CPU : Intel Dual-Core E5800 @ 3.20 GHz

RAM : 2 GB

As you can see that the laptop has better configuration than desktop(correct me if i am wrong). Still, I feel that the desktop is bit faster and responsive when it comes to booting, performance etc.

What can be the reason for this, I have noticed this in other people scenarios too
