I'm considering to buy a new laptop with an Intel Core i5 2nd Generation processor, Intel HM65 board and NVIDIA card (something like this).

From what I understand, this board and processor (since it's Sandy Bridge) has integrated graphics too. So, will I be able to switch integrated / dedicated graphics whenever I wish too?

Also, I'm looking for a laptop with minimal heating problem and decent life. So should I buy a laptop with dedicated graphics or not? Laptops with Dedicated graphics tend to show heating problems thus reducing the life of laptop, however if switching dedicated/integrated graphics is possible, will heating GPU still be an issue?

You should ask the brand of the laptop if it has switchable graphics.

This really depends from laptop to laptop and some might just default to the dedicated graphics.
