When I open a Word document from my desktop or from an e-mail, I get the following error message

Runtime error 91: Object variable or with block variable not set

If I open Word from the Program Files\Microsoft Office I don't get the error. I checked all my add-ins, comparing with my other PC, and they're exactly the same.

How do I get rid of it?

Must be some (faulty) code running somewhere so I'd suggest checking Normal.dotm but it may help to clarify (i) problem is for ALL Word documents and (ii) happens on one machine (always) but not (ever) on another of substantially identical configuration? By 'desktop' do you mean as in double-clicking a file or hardware different from your other PC? Are the desktop/Program Files options both the same user or different machines/different logon same machine? – pnuts Dec 30 '12 at 23:38
