I'd like to achieve the following using a 7.1 soundcard on a Debian system: play a video (including audio) and then, independently (not synchronized) play an audio file on another channel.
I could hook up some speakers for the video-audio, but do not need a new sound card to play some other file on the other speakers.
Is that possible with mplayer? If yes, how would I do it?
