I would like to know your opinion on a Linux distribution that works best on a MacBook Pro. I tried Ubuntu 11 but I couldn't get wifi to work, all the keyboard shortcuts were jumbled up, and the even the trackpad was working horribly. What do you recommend?

Any distribution fits the bill. Just adjust the kernel / drivers / libraries / apps / configuration... – Tom Wijsman Aug 21 '11 at 1:10

Believe it or not, it's Ubuntu. Granted, it's hard, but it's also popular among Mac users.

Why is Ubuntu the most suitable? – Simon Sheehan Aug 21 '11 at 1:05

I second that. I've run Fedora on Macs, without issue, but I haven't tried any other distro on a Mac. So I can't really compare. – Chad Feller Aug 21 '11 at 1:12
@Simon It's not. In fact, it's ill-suited for a mac. However, everyone else is doing it, which makes it a crap-ton easier than with any other distro. Like how gran uses Facebook because her grandson makes her. – digitxp Aug 21 '11 at 1:45
