Yesterday I attempted to install Fedora on my MacBook Pro but to no avail. After creating partitions in Disk Utility, I restarted and booted the lived disk. Everything went fine: I chose to install Fedora but re-portioned what I had created in disk utility because I needed to create swap space and create an ext4 file system. I then proceeded to install; everything went well and as far as I'm aware it was a successful install.

However when I restarted there was no sign of Fedora, only the Mac partition and Live Disc.

In the past I have re-formatted the whole disk (on the same Macbook Pro) but still have the same problem.

My MacBook Pro:

  • Identifier: MacBookPro6,2
  • Processor: Intel Core i7

Any ideas why Fedora isn't appearing?

Have you tried rEFIt? See if it shows up in that list. – fideli Aug 22 '11 at 6:33
