Aztec Code Reader

Question

Does anyone know a good piece of software that can read aztec codes? I have bunch of aztec codes here from several companies, and for educational purposes, I want to know what they say.

Quick searches in my usual suspect locations don't turn up obvious candidate solutions for you. Aztec is supported by code in some cell phones. IIRC, it got a lot of popular use in Japan that way, for instance. Wikipedia has more details, but no list of easy software to integrate.

Some tidbits from my travels:

• NeoReader on an iPhone is claimed to recognize Aztec codes, but may also be limited to use for the purpose of URL redirection where their servers convert a UID stored in the barcode symbol into an URL for the web browser. They don't appear to be a general purpose "keyboard-wedge" type reader.
• Postscriptbarcode implements creation of symbols in a large number of symbologies in pure PostScript, including Aztec code.
• 3S Industries sells a scanner for Aztec and other 2D symbols. Its available for sale, but will cost over US$500 at specialty shops supporting point-of-sale applications.
• Zebra Crossing (zxing) is an open source barcode reader for lots of 1D and 2D symbols. In 2D, they support DataMatrix, QR Code, and PDF417 but not Aztec at the moment.
