iTunes Cloud seems like a great way for me to get all music, videos, apps, etc. to all devices but my concern is around past purchases, iOS upgrades and so on for 4 iPads.

Would iTunes Cloud be a good move for ensuring all my iPad apps, music, etc. be available to the iPads without losing any prior purchases? Does the cloud service correctly recognize my iPads as my devices and not delete anything from them?

In short: I want to consolidate everything in one central location but not lose anything I've purchased. I'm in a situation where my current iPads, music purchases, and app purchases have been through iTunes on a computer which is very close to dying. I asked a similar question about migrating to a new computer, but migrating to the cloud sounds preferable if it works.

Has anyone done this successfully or used the cloud service successfully?
