I used IDM as download manager on Windows XP. Whenever I start downloading a file, then after downloading 10% or more, the download stops.

The error says:

Server not found or there is problem with DNS resolving host

I can pause it, and if I resume again, it starts downloading and same problem occurs after a while. I also tried downloading the Ubuntu image from their servers and had same problem.

I don't know if this is related to the modem or my ISP. I tried this on another computer with Windows 7 and it's the same problem. I have two internet connections from the same company and my second internet connection works fine.

To me it looks like something is resetting the DNS server after some time, but I don't know.

How can I solve this?

If your second connection works fine, you could ask for a replacement modem. It's obviously not related to the computers if they work with the other connection. – slhck Aug 28 '11 at 7:38
