My problem is two-fold. I want to provide a photo booth setup using my computer at a function. Not only should it take photos, but the photos shoud be high quality. Which brings in the question, maybe I just get a decent camera, this will solve my problem. Regardless, I need software that can:

  • Take 4 enlarged ID (something like this: http://photoboof.com/images/samples/strip2-small.jpg)
  • Add a watermark to the photo
  • Print the photo on nice paper for the client to take
  • Software must preferably run on Windows, but because we will be doing this for a function, making the extra effort to get a linux pc won't be unreasonable

Any advice would be highly appreciated?

What operating system will this need to run on? – MaQleod Aug 29 '11 at 16:51
Preferably Windows, but because we will be doing this for a function, making the extra effort to get a linux pc won't be unreasonable. – RD. Aug 29 '11 at 16:59
On Linux I understand cheese is the app to use. Don't know how good it is. Don't have much experience with Windows photo booth apps either. – zpletan Sep 22 '11 at 22:17

If anybody has a Mac, then Photo Booth is a photo taking application which comes pre-installed with Mac OS X and iPad 2.

Another possibility would be to rent a real Photo Booth cabin, if one is available in your city, rather than build your own.

I don't have an experience with such products, but a search has found me some products for Windows (and I suspect that there are many more) :

PhotoBooth for win7 (free)
Sparkbooth ($59 plus free 10-Day Trial)
[EDIT]
Video Booth (free and pro version at $29.95)
