Outlook versions prior to 2007 don't allow PST file sizes > 2GB. You can upgrade to Outlook 2007/2010 or otherwise you'll have to create a new PST file and use the new one going forward.

if you dont upgrade, splitting PSTs is the way to go. Be sure to reduce the size of your PST below 1.9GB as you might still get the occasional error. – Keltari Aug 29 '11 at 18:53

Looks like your .PST is already corrupted.

I recommend for you to run scanpst.exe, this is just to prevent you from loosing any important folders, in your PST.

In Outlook 2002 and its earlier versions the size of .pst is limted to only 2 GB. If the size increases then Outlook starts showing various errors. Microsoft has provided PST2GB tool to reduce the size of oversized PST file but it does not effectively work as it truncates the data from the file; which results in data loss.

To deal with this issue you can take some preventive steps like :

Split PST

In which the large PST file will be splitted into small size .pst files in order to reduce the size of file.

Compact PST

This is an inbuilt feature in Outlook in which you can compact the size of PST file by clicking File → Data File Management → Select Personal Folder (.pst) which you need to compact and click Settings → Compact Now. Click OK and Close.
