I use the Trillian Gmail plugin and Firefox. The plugin checks my Gmail email and all POP3 accounts linked to my Gmail account, and notifies me about new mail with a popup in the bottom right-hand corner of my screen. When I click the link in the new mail popup, Gmail opens in a completely new tab.
I always keep a Gmail open in a pinned tab. How can I make Firefox recognize links from the plugin so that clicking them will open new mail in my existing Gmail tab?
