I have an eMachines desktop originally installed Windows Vista. I formatted the hdd and installed Ubuntu 10.x on it. I still kept the recovery partition though.

Now, I want to recover the whole system back to the original state, which has Windows Vista.

However, as I know, if I just boot into the recovery partition and just run the recovery software, after recovery, I will not be able to boot into Windows because the MBR will be messed up.

So what is the proper procedure to recover the system back to its original state?

Thanks,
