I'm looking for any text based games for UNIX/OSX. By 'text based' I mean programs that run in a terminal, with no mouse controller - just commands and stuff... Preferably they should be free and open source.

Do you know of any good ones?

Nethack! it has both Graphical and text-based versions.

I studied the graphical version for my Games design course and ended up getting hooked once I got the hang of how to play it.
