quadkonsole is an application which requires KDE. Now I'm in Fedora 15 with gnome. When I ./configure it, it reports:

checking for kde-config... not found
configure: error: The important program kde-config was not found!
Please check whether you installed KDE correctly.

How to fix it? Do I need to install KDE?

I know KDE is another GUI system which is similar to GNOME, can I install both in a single system? And if I installed it, can I run quadkonsole in gnome?

You can have both KDE and GNOME -- but in this case you don't need the whole of KDE, just the components quadconsole requires. kde-config is part of KDE 3, though, which is a little old... Tools such as tmux or screen are very common for tiling terminal emulators, by the way. – grawity Sep 2 '11 at 10:36
