Is there any way I can change the "choose directory" dialog in Windows Explorer?

The problem is, I am saving a few hundred groups and need to choose the directories by hand. I can't batch it. I have a base folder and when I click create folder, I can paste or type the name but by default it ISN'T selected. To select it I need to CLICK OFF, WAIT (I have no idea why but I must for some reason; it doesn't seem to register) THEN click on the directory again.

There's a textbox below to type in the name but if the directory doesn't exist then it won't use the folder. It's absolutely horrible and making my life very unpleasant.

Does anyone know a fix?

Could you create all of the folders with a script, then select them in the dialog the usual way? It's not ideal, but would save you a lot of time. – Hand-E-Food Sep 5 '11 at 1:32
