How to switch Firefox channel to Stable?

Is there a way to get out of doing beta releases?

I want to only be updated for normal, fully tested releases instead.

That is, I want to get out of the Beta Channel

Try uninstalling the beta and download the current release from Mozilla (6.0.2) –  Windos Sep 6 '11 at 21:23

Type in about:config in the URL bar.

Find app.update.channel. It is probably set to "beta". Click on the string and change it to "release".

If that doesn't work you may have to manually update the channel-prefs.js" in the <installation directory>\defaults\pref path using a text editor. –  gview Sep 6 '11 at 21:37
