I have this pretty old computer with these specs:

CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6420 @ 2.13GHz

RAM 4gb

Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC. Model P5Q-PRO

GPU: GeForce GTS 250

I have recently overclocked the processor, to get some more juice out of the computer. I played Black Ops and Portal 2 with pretty good settings. Everything was fine, and I checked the CPU temperature often, to be sure nothing was wrong. Unfortunately, something was wrong. I started archiving a 45gb folder in 7zip, and went to repair my bicycle outside. When I came back, the computer was on some kind of hibernate. When I touched the mouse, it started up, and a "Asus PQ5 PRO" startup appeared, instead of the old American Mega trends startup. It was there shortly, and in a moment, the computer resumed. Computer resumed to run the archiving process, but some things were completely wrong:

  • CPU fan is running 100% (or just incredibly noisy)
  • Date is set to 1. january 2002
  • windows was not genuine
  • And the computer was trying to install a new floppy disc driver, even that i have no floppy disc drive

Nothing changes when I restart my computer, and when it starts, it still shows the new "Asus PQ5 PRO" startup. What happened to my computer?
