Well, without posting your motherboard we can't really say, but with 64 bit it's "as much as your motherboard will hold". – tombull89 Sep 14 '11 at 8:35

Assuming your system is an Inspiron 1520 as the Motherboard model suggests then the manual states you can have 4GB maximum memory in a 2 x 2GB stick configuration

Crucial also describe your system as only being able to support 4GB of memory.

I would recommend using Crucials System Scanner tool to get the exact specifications for your machine and then you can make an informed choice about the memory you need to buy (667MHz SoDIMM DDR2). The tool is available here

Thanx for the pointer. It seems the maximum is 4Gb. – manishKungwani Sep 14 '11 at 10:21

Depending on your edition of Win7, between 8G (Home Basic) and 192G (Professional/Enterprise/Ultimate). Assuming, as mentioned in comments, that your motherboard can slot that much RAM, of course.

It is better if he check the montherboard manual. It will clearly show him there. – darking050 Sep 14 '11 at 9:18
