I need to know what program or process is changing my mouse cursor. I will be working along and it will change to an hourglass and back several times throughout the day.

I have tried using process explorer to see if any programs have activity when it changes but I cannot pinpoint it.

Is there a tool to discover why the mouse cursor changes? Maybe I could spy on windows messages for certain events and trace it back to a specific program?

You could just post a log of all programs you have currently running. Then you'll need to use Process monitor, not explorer. – surfasb Sep 18 '11 at 19:00
