This is a natural followup pos to my previous post SSH access to office host behind NAT router

My office PC is located behind a NAT router (no direct access from outside, I am not root on the NAT router). I established a ssh link to a different host on the internet (dedicated IP) and forwarded connections to port X to this host. Then, from home (behind WLAN router) I can then connect to my office PC. Great!

Now, in short time I cannot use anymore the "host in the middle". (University PC and due to graduation and switching work place I loose the account). Bad!

Is there a good service provider out there who offers a dedicated IP and ssh access for low price? I do not need much CPU power, neither much memory, since all I do is connecting from time to time on the weekends through ssh links to my office PC. But it must be a dedicated IP address I guess. Is this possible for a few dollars?

Any ideas?

OT for here, i suspect - you're asking for a budget VPS or a shell in effect - lowendbox.com is a good place to start for VPSs - though make sure to read the comments carefully - some close down. – Journeyman Geek Sep 17 '11 at 10:24
