I was trying to troubleshoot this problem for a user. He was having a printer having an ip address. Whenever I try to print an error occurs about spooler service no running. Later on I added the same printer to the user without IP using ADD PRINTER . But at this time the printer was running. Please tell me why this problem occured and how to solve it. The user doesn't have administrator rights.

OS:Win XP

Which OS? There's not enough information to tell you what you want to know. I have noticed, however, that the Print Spooler Service in Windows Vista and Windows 7 is a bit unstable at times, and various applications (especially Adobe Reader when printing PDFs downloaded from various Canadian Federal Government web sites) seem to trigger these problems with complex print jobs with PCL 6 printer drivers. The horrible part is that after the first time the printer spooler fails, it seems to keep on failing (even with small and simple jobs) until after all printers are removed and re-installed. – Randolf Richardson Sep 21 '11 at 7:03
