I'll try to keep this short. When I navigate to an intranet site by directly typing the ip address into IE8, IE8 will grab an xml file from the device and the XML file will run and display the web content, fine, or at least it was until today.
Now my IE wants to prompt to download the XML file. At this point I had not changed any settings within IE or in Internet Options. So, I played around with the settings, defaulted them, installed IE9 and still it wants to prompt for download.
Chrome and Firefox both display the web content as it should and other IE's (on other machines) can run it fine.
IE8 and 9 on Windows 7 x32.
