I've spent hours trying to configure my apple mail smtp servers to work. Frustrated, I tried to add the same account to my gmail account. using port 465 on SSL worked just fine.

Is there something i'm missing during config using apple mail? has anyone else encountered a situation where they could not use apple mail to connect to an account they could with google or another mail service?

You might be able to connect to the account using Gmail as their server(s) can connect to the apple mail server whereas your PC can't? Can't be much more help I'm afraid. – Richard Sep 22 '11 at 10:51
