I was trying to add a new logical partition to my extended partition. So I was using GParted to move my previous (120GB) partition to the front, but halfway through, the computer shut down.

And now I get a grub rescue error... And gparted won't unmount the partition...

Help please? This is my main computer! And this is my main partition!

partition type? command used to re-size partition? Cause of shutdown? Size of partition before and after? what you had for lunch? as much information as possible, the more information the better chance we can help you – Silverfire Sep 23 '11 at 2:47
Generally, if you interrupt a partition move, it's very difficult, if not impossible, to get it back. That's in the general case - there are exceptions that you may be lucky enough to take advantage enough. – new123456 Sep 23 '11 at 20:40
