I have a Windows 7 64bit host system and Windows XP 32bit running as a guest in VMware. I am developing software in the guest system, but an extension of my programm is to have access to a FireWire device (Canopus ADVC-55) with the software that I am writing. From what I've tried and what I've read on the internet, there is no FireWire support in Virtualisation solutions.
I would like to avoid installing WinXP as a dual boot option.
Do I have any other option? Does something like coLinux exist for Windows? And if it existed, would it help me with my problem?
