I have a group project that requires my group to create a prototype help desk using Sharepoint Server 2010.

The teacher gave little instruction beyond telling us to find a template. It needs to manage tickets and requests like a help desk.

Have you searched at all for a Sharepoint Helpdesk template? We're happy to help with homework, but based on the results I received simply from a google search for "sharepoint helpdesk template", I'd say it is unlikely that you have done any work yourself besides finding SuperUser and posting this question.

In perusing the results, even Microsoft has a template for a helpdesk setup in Sharepoint.

Here's one link to 2010-converted templates, among them is a helpdesk template.

Actually, all of those are for older versions of Sharepoint and do not work with 2010, but your smug response is greatly appreciated. – user99261 Sep 26 '11 at 19:08
