I am working in Excel and I'm testing it with various values in the cells. Whenever I insert the word Cafe. Excel changes it automatically to Café

I don't want this.

Is there any way I can disable this?

It would be nice to include the essential parts of the answer here, and provide the link only for future reference. – slhck Oct 3 '11 at 7:19
The first two links work through the answer in detail, my third is a worked example. IMHO reposting partial link content multiple times (unspecified version in question) is over the top and not as appropriate as a clean link. – brettdj Oct 3 '11 at 7:24
{thx for links formatting slhck} – brettdj Oct 3 '11 at 7:52

Is there any way to do this as a one-off? I don't see an "Undo last Autocorrect" option. I don't want to disable this feature, but I want to type "OTU" not "Out" in Excel, for example. – Dai Sep 23 '15 at 21:55
