I live out in the redwoods in Big Sur. DSL is very very limited. However my neighbor is lucky enough to have a DSL connection. I recently purchased a wireless bridge (Engenius EOR 7550) to span the 300+yards between our residences. I'm running a 200' ethernet cable up a tree to power and connect via LAN the EOR7550 as a wireless bridge. The ethernet cable then runs into my Linksys WRT54G. I've configured the Linksys as a router, disabled the DHCP server. However once connected to the Linksys I cannot ping any other connected ip addresses. What could the solution to this be? Alternatively I would like to set up a subnet on the linksys so that I'm ultimately isolated from the other residence with the exception of access to the internet. Right now I'm set up in my living room bouncing radio signals across the room. I wanted to get this dialed in before I scale it up outside and I'm hanging 100' up a tree. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
