I was being stupid and and downloaded a Vista JS registry fix because first it said

There is no script engine for file extension.

When the "There is no script engine for file extention" message showed up, I was using Filezilla and trying to edit a .js file. Now, it says that there's a 800a1391 error.

I did a web search and someone said that the Vista registry fix (from winhelponline.com) would work on Windows 7 as well. I don't think it did since it then gave me the 800a1391 error.

Please note, I have no experience tinkering with the registry or anything outside Javascript and CSS/HTML.
Also, I don't have a registry back up. (yes, I'm an imbecile...)

BTW: this is what shows up now: line: 1 char: 1 error: object expected code: 800A138F Source: Microsoft JScript runtime error
