I got a tablet a little time ago, it's an ASUS TF101G. I already had experience with Android devices from HTC and Samsung, but this is my first Android tablet. It's currently running Honeycomb 3.2.

As I connected it to my MacBook, a window appeared on this tablet, saying it's "looking for Asus sync". No sign of a new device on the Mac. I hit "cancel" on the newly opened window, it closed, but in tray, the icon of that window still remained.

Also, a notification about turning on USB debug mode popped up.

As I read on a forum, I turned off the debug mode, but it still didn't work. And when I opened the "Looking for asus sync" window and hit cancel, USB debug mode switched on again.

How do I connect the tablet to my MacBook without installing a new firmware or Asus sync, so I can access its memory, or at least its microSD card?
