I have a ProLine DSL modem, a Netgear Router and a Verizon DSL account.

It has a dynamic IP but I would still like to be able to setup http https and ftp access to a Network Area Storage device we recently purchased. I can't seem to get it working.

The ProLine modem's firewall is disabled. Do I need to forward ports to the router? The modem has host and dynamic port forwarding and I don't know what one would be correct.

I have port forwarding on the router configured to send http/https/ftp to the IP of the NAS.

I was concerned that these ports might be blocked by Verizon so I also moved the ftp to port 123.

Http/https/ftp all work on our intranet but I can't get any of them to work externally.

Any advice would help.
