I have an HP Elitebook 8730w laptop. After a reinstall, my touchpad has stopped working lately. In Windows, when I use the touchpad, the pointer doesn't move at all and Windows starts producing asterisk sounds. Sometimes it opens the Search app for some reason. During bootup, BIOS will show "Mouse Not Detected." My Device Manager and Mouse settings looks like this:
Interestingly, if I reinstall Windows, up to some point the touchpad will work fine. I suspect an app issue, but I can't seem to detect which one is causing this. Any ideas?
