CCleaner is excellent...

Ironically, this PC cleaning utility comes bundled with toolbar crapware (which you can de-select, thankfully).

Make sure to download the Slim or Portable version of CCleaner, which doesn't include the extra junk.

Between those two, CCleaner. It has a good reputation and I know it does a good job. I have never heard of the other one, and that makes me very suspicious of what it actually does.

CCleaner, hands down. As the very name suggests, it the best Crap Cleaner!

Use PC Decrapifier to clean out unwanted bloatware.

CCleaner is great. Also try:

Orphans remover

Glary Utilities

Eusing free registry cleaner

If they are all the same hardware, I just use Ghost and re-image them periodically.

Depending on the version of Windows, it tends to eat itself and need to be reinstalled every couple of years.

depend of your needs :

ccleaner portable (free)

tunes up utilities 2009 (paid) (some love it for the 1-click check-up and more advanced utilities but I prefer ccleaner mostly)

For free software, see also Eusing Free Registry Cleaner together with Eusing Free Registry Defrag.

If you still work with some Windows XP boxes, you can also use PureRa and ATF-Cleaner.

"Am I doing enough?" depends on what your goal is...

If it is cleaning space, then that was a good start and I have these suggestions:

  • Applications
Uninstall software that is not needed anymore.

  • Cleaning
Besides CCleaner, also use Disk Cleanup, using yet another tool will have less effect.

  • Space Usage
Use disk tree software like WinDirStat to find where all your space is lost.

If you think the computers are slower than usual, you might also want to check for viruses.
