I have a time machine drive that backs up my OS hard drive and an external hard drive. My external hard drive died and I received a new hard drive today.
I formatted the new drive and gave it the same name as my previous external and then entered Time Machine to restore the files to the new drive. It ended up being 194 GB and took about 3 hours.
Now, time machine just ran on its own schedule and it's trying to backup 194 GB - clearly it is not recognizing the fact that these files already exist on the time machine drive.
Does anyone know how I can link the folder in time machine to the new drive? Any help is appreciated!
