iTunes 10.5 stopped interpreting my media keys and I already tried to use mmKeys.dll. Unfortunately, this has stopped working for iTunes 10.5. 10.4 did work, but the latest update seemed to break it again.
It seems to help if I kill iType.exe, which is IntelliType from Microsoft. So I was thinking to just uninstall the program, because I don't use any of the extra functions that are used on the keyboard.
But of course, this comes with a cost. Namely, I can't see if my Caps Lock / Num Lock / Scroll Lock is active or not and it doesn't show the volume meter when adjusting the volume.
So here comes the question: Is there an alternative to IntelliType that shows the volume meter and active lock keys? There is not much more functionality that I'm asking from my keyboard, so this should do the trick.
