When playing a variety of games in fullscreen mode the Windows 7 sound for addition or removal of hardware e.g. usb devices is played and key/mouse input is blocked for about 0.5-1 second. During which the last active key stroke is constantly send to the game. This does not happen while Windows is active in desktop mode or idling. The problem now is that neither the windows log nor the hardware manager show any information about this happening so I can't say which device provokes the usb stack reboot. Is there any other way to find out what causes this problem?

edit I won't wait 8 hours to "close" this question but its more or less resolved. The keyboard seems to be the cause. I detached every other device and tested them separately. Linux has an intelligent usb stack which does not reboot for every device so I didn't notice it until now.
