I got the cheap S220s with my new win7 pro desktop and while the bass is impressive for the price the treble generally is very bad - so bad that I think there must be trouble with it. Is there a way to find out for sure? As an example the voice audio on the following youtube clip is barely audible http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=TeeL09NH-SA

Plug the speakers into something else, see if they work. If they don't, the S-220™ Speaker System comes with a "3-year manufacturer's guarantee". I'd recommend sending it in for repairs. | |||
