I was using a samba share from a linux server mapped as a drive on a Windows laptop. I'd enabled offline files on it.

The server was unavailable for a while, so a few changes have been made in the offline files version. The server is now back, so I'd like to make the laptop sync its changes with the server.

However, the problem is that the server's IP and name have also changed.

Q. Can I force offline files to sync with the server using its new name?

I've tried adding entries to hosts and lmhosts, but it doesn't seem to work - it still treats the old mapped drive as "disconnected".

Looks like csccmd.exe would have done it, but apparently it's not available on Windows 7. Instead, I need to use a WMI interface documented here msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc296092.aspx – JohnCC Nov 2 '11 at 11:17
