I use Vista to burn "mastered" DVDs. I burn the same files on some DVDs. but when I try to use these DVDs, on some of them, when I try to "Explore", on some of the folders I get "Drag files to this folder to add them to the disc" and the files and folders info in the "Properties" is not as it should be.

I tried to "Explore" the DVDs both on the Vista burning computer, and also on XP. sometimes all is OK on both computers, but on some DVDs [from the same burning batch] the XP recognize all files, while the Vista does not, and on some DVDs both OS cannot explore all files.

Both computers recognize that ~800 MB are used. On some cases it said "Total Size: 800 MB, Free space 0" and on some cases it said "Total Size: 4.2 GB, Free space 3.5 GB". This maid me think that maybe during the burn process it is not always "finalized" to "mastered" DVDs.

In the "Device Manager", there is no red exclamation mark.

How can I detect if the problem comes from the DVD or from the DVD-writer? How can I avoid this problem?
