I'm looking for a 24", 1920x1080, IPS-panel monitor with a glossy finish to the screen and can't find any, anywhere.

Other than apple and high-end Dell monitors, am I out of luck?

I'm not looking for shopping recommendations, I'd just like to know whether or not they exist. I've been searching for some time and haven't found a single one - if they don't exist, does anyone know why?

This isn't a shopping site. – HaydnWVN Nov 8 '11 at 9:59
I didn't ask for a shopping recommendation. If only I could downvote comments. :) – Anonymous - Nov 8 '11 at 10:01
Then what are you asking for? – Mikhail Kupchik Nov 8 '11 at 10:05

@Anonymous-: Your question, in its current form, comes across as a shopping recommendation type of question. Consider changing it so that it doesn't look like a shopping question and those who downvoted it might change their votes (I voted to close instead of downvoting). – Randolf Richardson Nov 8 '11 at 10:08
@Mikhail Kupchik - Whether or not they exist, literally. Maybe I am interested in buying one. I'm not looking for recommendations, I'd just like to know if I'm wasting my time searching (have been for some times...). And furthermore if there was a reason why they aren't produced, if they don't exist. – Anonymous - Nov 8 '11 at 10:10

Most 24" seem to be 1920x1200.

Edit: i know this seems like a shopping recommendation, but don't quite know how else to do it!

Thanks, but as far as I can tell, both of those monitors sport a matte finish... – Anonymous - Nov 8 '11 at 10:05
Nearly everything is Matte now because it's more viewable, why would you want it Glossy? There might be some 3rd party screen cover/protection to make it such? – HaydnWVN Nov 8 '11 at 10:07
Personal preference, I like how vibrant colours appear and lighting/reflections and so on aren't an issue. – Anonymous - Nov 8 '11 at 10:09
Fair enough, although i would say vibrant colours come from a well backlit monitor, not from a glossy finish... – HaydnWVN Nov 8 '11 at 10:11

I cant tell you one thing, dont ever try to peel that hunk of added matte (no-glare) plastic off :-) that stuff is stuck on there good :-) I have a cheap (15") display with raw glass face, and its is nasty because the glass isnt very perfectally flat. could be that is why they are capping them? – Psycogeek Nov 8 '11 at 10:13
