It seems OpenOffice Writer screwed up my document I saved it in the built in odt format.

Whenever I clear formatting from a paragraph. The left indentation of the text is set to 0.76cm while the indentation of the first line is set to -0.76cm. So every paragraph where I reset the style, the first line starts at 0cm, while all other line start at 0.76cm from the left margin. But the default paragraph style is untouched I checked it twice.

Moreover if select sevaral paragraphs to apply bullets and numbering on it, almost all paragraphs gets bullets, not only those I selected.

What's going on?

It seems the only solution is to throw the entire thing out and start over. :(

Any ideas?

Regarding the bullet / numbering issue: is AutoUpdate active for the current paragraph style? If yes, adding bullets or numbering to a single paragraph affects all other par's that share the same, auto-updating style. Regarding the indentation issue: is your style linked with another style, so the indentation value may be defined there? – tohuwawohu Dec 14 '11 at 13:50
