My laptop is Lenovo T400, and my OS is Ubuntu 10.10.

I connect my laptop to a projector to do presentation. By hitting the functional key "Fn + F7". the laptop screen content will be shown by the projector, but the screen of my laptop will sometimes black out. This is not convenient when I need to look at my laptop during presentation.

But the content sometimes will keep on the laptop screen although sometimes not. So is this normal? Any way to guarantee to show the content of the laptop screen to the projector, while keeping it on the laptop screen at the same time?

I found that if I press Fn+F7 once, twice and three times, what is shown on the laptop screen and on the projector screen are different. It seems like I haven't understand the usage of Fn+F7.

Does using different projector models cause different results (notebook screen on or off)? Or is this always with the exact same projector? – techie007 Nov 14 '11 at 14:22
