We have a computation rack server (PY RX600S5 X7550) running Windows Server 2008 r2. We access the server by remote desktop.
Sometimes it happens that the temperature raises in the room where it is located and our IT guy turns off all the servers. This is not good after several weeks of running computations. My question is simple.
How to enable standby mode so that the IT guy will let the server sleep and the running computations would not fail? Is it possible to enable it from the remote desktop? I am not familiar with that and I am afraid that nor is our IT guy...
PS: I guess that with 32GB of memory, the hibernation is not reasonable, right (too slow...)?
