How can i disable this so called mipmapping? its taking crazy amount of memory and makes image loading so slow its painful.

So if i zoom in/out a lot, the GIMP has to generate own image for each of the zoom levels so it looks pretty and nice. a 100MB image takes 350MB on GIMP!

Edit: i dont just want to disable it aesthetically, i want to disable it internally as well: so GIMP isnt generating different images for different zoom levels.
