I have installed Ubuntu 11.10 within Windows7 in a separate partition. But i dont have access to edit files on other partitions in my hard disk from Ubuntu. I can view the files but cannot edit them. When i try to change the access rights, it does not seem to work.

How do i change the access rights so that i am able to edit files?

Mind running cd / ; ls -l | grep host? (Hopefully I got that command right.) – digitxp Nov 29 '11 at 23:07
@MarkRansom: It is dual boot only – Hari Krishna Nov 30 '11 at 7:43
