I really like Roboform, but recently discovered that I have exceeded my activation count. I am reluctant to repurchase Roboform, because I really thought it was a once off payment, and I reinstall my pc often, so I feel a bit robbed really. Besides this Roboform doesn't work with Google Chrome, my favorite browser.

So, does anyone know a good alternative to Roboform, I don't mind paying for it, but I want something that works in Chrome, and is at least as good as Roboform.

Thanks in advance

I would like to thank Roboform (as a company and their support) who very quickly helped me to get more activations (at no extra charge). They're also launching a Chrome plugin later this year....

The answer remains accepted because it does provide alternatives to Roboform, but I'm personally sticking with Roboform.

You can try LastPass or KeePass.

Does LastPass really work with Chrome. I've heard it does, but I've installed it, and it seems to only work with FF and IE. Do I need to take extra steps to get it working in Chrome? – JL. Sep 5 '09 at 18:58
You can use LastPass in Chrome via the bookmarklets feature. You can find some info here:
dotnetwizard.net/soft-apps/use-lastpass-in-chrome
lifehacker.com/5135416/… – swatkat Sep 5 '09 at 19:11

I've run out of activations before (reformats, reinstalls, etc.) with Roboform and their support people have helped me restore my activation status. This has happened at least three times by now, so I doubt you'll have an issue.

Sounds promising, might be first prize to continue using Roboform. I think I'll send them a mail and see if I get a follow up. – JL. Sep 5 '09 at 19:04
They've been helpful. Something else to push you in that direction: they're supposedly working on integration with other browsers (e.g., Chrome, Safari) and it is simple to migrate your passcards from one machine to another (it's under Options -> User Data). – David Andres Sep 5 '09 at 20:44
I personally exceeded the limits also, and they quickly allowed me more. – Knox Sep 5 '09 at 22:13

Have you tried Roboform support to see if you can get your activation count reset? I've found that most software companies are sympathetic to their customers in your situation.

I've hit it a couple of times, contacted tech support and they fixed it, no problems.

What they (and anyone else with activation-limited software) should do is make activations regenerate over time.
