I'm not sure if this is off-topic but does anyone know of a website where I can get free, royalty free music for an RPG? Typically those are the background music for use with maps in-game.

I just need a placeholder until I can find a composer for the music. If anyone can help me then it would be really appreciated.

I believe this question is off-topic, and may be closed soon. I suggest searching for music with a Creative Commons license. – iglvzx Dec 4 '11 at 4:40
Thanks for the heads up. At least I'll know what's coming. :/ – Shedo Surashu Dec 4 '11 at 4:51
Try jamendo.com. It's a directory of Creative Commons music. It has a "videogame music" tag. – screener Dec 4 '11 at 11:49

You could look for public domain modules on TheModArchive (licensing). This type of music is small, easily modifiable (if the rights allow you to do that) to add things like looping, and sounds great in RPG games.
